Colors

Enrique, Age  9
ABC Poem

Leonardo is an awesome artist
Many of his paintings are of animals
None of his pictures have black ink
Only using red, blue, and purple
People enjoy his paintings

Jose, Age  11
Color Man

I am red like my own blood
I am yellow just like a sour lemon
I am blue just like the sky on a clear day
I am brown just like a grizzly bear
I am orange like a sweet squash
I am color man
Here to brighten your day!

Brandon, Age  10
Green Poem

Green looks like my shoes
Green smells like grass
Green tastes like green apples
Green sounds like wind through leaves
Green feels like vegetables
Green is my favorite color

Rafael, Age  10
Colors

These are the colors that show me who I am

Blue makes me feel cool
Like when I am swimming in a pool

Black is when I feel fast
Like I would never be last

Red makes me feel frustrated
Like when I feel agitated

White makes me feel nervous
Like I’m singing at a church service

Gold makes me feel rich and with glory

These are the colors that show me who I am

Aldo, Age 10
Color Me Poetry

There was a blue whale.
He was as hungry as the sky was for the water.
Soon he saw a red chili.
It was like fireworks (boom, boom) that went up into the sky.
Soon the blue whale got the chili and became purple like grapes
and bumpy like a chameleon.

Cassandra, Age 10
Crazy Green

My color green sounds like a slow turtle
But it tastes like a fresh apple from the garden
It smells like a beautiful spring grass
But it looks strangely like a bucket of paint barely made from the store.
It feels like a soft pillow
It moves like a slow snail.

Tianalyse, Age 11
Yellow Is Fun

Yellow makes me feel happy.
Yellow is like a juicy banana.
Yellow is like bright school bus.
Yellow is like Sunday fun day.
Yellow is like sunshine sky.
Yellow is the best.

Kevin, Age 11
The Rainbow of Colors

The rainbow of colors.                                 El arco iris de colores
Red is how I feel when                                 Me siento rojo cuando
my brothers pull my hair.                           mis hermanos me jalan el rabo.
Yellow is how I feel when                            Me siento amarillo cuando
I am happy.                                                    me siento feliz.
White is how I feel when                             Me siento blanco cuando
I see clouds.                                                   veo las nubes.
Green is how I feel when                             Me siento verde cuando
I see grass.                                                     veo el cesped.

Iyonna, Age 9
Green

Green sounds like trees moving side to side.
Green tastes like a sweet, crunchy apple.
Green smells like green apple bubble gum that is sour and chewy.
Green looks like real small peas on my plate.
Green feels like Christmas wrapping paper, smooth as my blanket.
Green moves like a jumping grasshopper
Green

Jose, Age 8
Light Blue

I like blue because it makes me feel happy.
I like white because it reminds me of fluffy white clouds.
I like light blue because it reminds me of the sky.

Jasmine, Age 11
Teal

Teal is happiness like conquering the world
Teal is love like a big, deep hug
Teal is peace like sitting on a beach watching the sun set
Teal is Argentina my favorite soccer team
Teal is quiet like an empty room
A calm teal wave like a heart beating slow
A quiet teal wave like walking in a park
The Sun, The Moon, & The Planets

David, Age  8
Playtime

I was running from the sun
And later with the moon
It was a lot of fun
Chasing them both before noon

Xavier, Age 9
Sun and Moon

Sun
heat
hot
red
daytime
helps flowers grow
warms your car
swimming
shining light

Moon
gray
cold
round
nighttime
sleeping time
spooky sky
dark night.

Brayan, Age 9
Planets

Planets of different colors in space
With a slow song.
Shiny stars all over me
Down and up,
And right to left…
I see a moon to the left,
And to the right,
A sun shining at me.

Edwin, Age 10
Star

I wish I was a star
To be high in the sky
Shining down on you
As you say goodnight

Rebecca, age 10
A Falling Star

I saw a star that slides down the sky,
Blinding down south as I passed by
Too quick and too burning to hold,
Too lovely to become old or to be sold.
Good for only to make nice and beautiful wishes on…
And then forever to be gone.

Bao, Age 9
Sunset

Sunset is beautiful.
The brightness and darkness come together
The color red and orange begin
The moon is getting brighter
So are the stars.
The sun is going West.
Down mountain and valley it went.
The sun is resting.
The moon comes out.
The sun is going to another hemisphere.
Peacefulness and night came and lullaby the people to sleep.
Nature

Jeren, Age  9
Flowers

Flowers grow in the grass
Green, blue, red, and pink
A hurricane damaged all of the flowers
So I planted new flowers after the storm

Alejandro, Age  11
Dear Apple

Dear Apple,
Why are you so red?
You are as red like a cherry
You are as sweet as candy

How many seeds do you have?
They are as small as ants
You sound like chips
When I bite into you.
You are awesome.
You are so delicious.

Lily, Age  8
Trees

Trees are tall
Trees are short

Some are maple
Some are oak

Leaves are yellow
Leaves are green

These are the beautiful trees I have seen

Jose, Age  11
Pandas

Panda
Quiet animals
Rising up trees
Sleeping in the branches
Thinking what to do next
Uninterested in moving
Very lazy
Wonderful creature.

Alin, Age  10

Morning Breakfast

Alligator is in a pond looking for
Birds that are blue and green, his favorite
Catching four of them with his large teeth
Devouring them up and said “Delicious!”

Christopher, Age  9
Sunflowers

I love sunflowers
Flowers grow in the summer
They die in winter

Elias, Age  9
Storms

Storms are beautiful
Lighting up the nighttime sky
They glow in the night

Storms are so scary
Loud thunder sounds like a beast
I hide in my bed

Karla, Age 9
Some Things About Leaves

The leaves change color,
The leaves are yellow and red,
The leaves are flying.

Jesse, Age 9; Gerardo, Age 10
Lightning and Thunder

I am scary
I am loud

I am hot
I rumble

I like storms
I do too

When we get together we have a rainstorm!

Nashley, Age 9
Dear Clouds

Dear Clouds,

Stop ruining the sunny days.
Every day when I want to go outside
the clouds start getting gray.
Take your rain to places where it doesn’t rain
like the desert.
In school you even ruin the days
when we want to go outside
Rain Rain Go Away!
Come again some other day.
I am so tired of you
so leave forever.

From,
Nashley

Eric, Age 9
Leaves

I like to rake leaves
Orange, red, brown, yellow, fun
Then jump inside them
Away the leaves will fly
Happy to have Fall

Isabel, Age 10
Flower, Flower

Flower, flower!
Great and big!
Happy colors!
Indigo, red, violet too!
Everything I wrote I love it too!

Nadia, Age 10
Butterflies

Butterflies make me feel happy.
They are colorful and pretty.
They flutter their wings to fly through the air.
They fly through the air like they just don’t care.
Butterflies land on flowers to get some food to survive in nature.

Alexa, Age 9
Ocean

The ocean is as blue as the wonderful sky.
I feel the hot burning sand on my feet when I close my eyes.
I feel freezing when I swim.
I feel cozy when I lay on the hot burning sand.
I feel cold when I think of the ocean blue and deep.

Dayana, Age 10
Sky

The sky is blue
The stars shine bright
Dark clouds fluffy like my pillow
The moon is as big as earth
The sun is hot as fire
Earth green and blue
Blue like the sea and green like the trees
Tornado dark and gray
Wind blowing my face
Shooting star shiny as gold and fast as a car
Feelings

Maciel, Age 8
My Happiness

My happiness is like sunshine.
It looks like the sun and it reminds me of the time when I was a little kid.
It makes me happy.
I want to go ride my bicycle.

Aracely, Age 11
My Happiness

My happiness is like a playground.
It jumps and it plays it makes me feel like my own time.
I want to play, jump and be myself.

Ariana, Age 9
Happy

Happy is in the jar.
He is glad and wants to jump with joy.
He is as beautiful and peaceful as a butterfly.

Spreading all over the earth
Bringing joy everywhere.
He fills the jar with love.
Kind words and joyfulness all around the world.
Everyone wants Happy around.
I think I’ll let him out of the jar.

Betsy, Age 10
Never Be Free

I feel stuck with the door shut
I feel dead instead
Never be free to climb a tree
Not cool I can’t rule
Not my way to stay all gray
Never stay my way
I feel like I’m going to faint and never be awake
Never run and jump, I feel like I’m going to fall.

Emilio, Age 10

Seasons

Yulisa, Age 10
Four Seasons

A new year begins.

A snowman family
They are playing in the cold
Having so much fun.

New flowers growing
and beautiful butterflies
flying all around.

Big blue sparkly pool
My family swimming all day
SPLASH!! I jump right in.

Big leaves falling down
EEK!  BOO! Happy Halloween!
A lot of colors.

And then it begins again.

Leigha, Age  10
I Love Fall

I love fall
It is the best time of the year
Lots of beautiful things happening
Leaves change colors
Thanksgiving dinner
Halloween parties
Lots of candy
Fall is wonderful
But it gets very cold

Wynter, Age  9
Snow

Snow is as white as the clouds
There is nothing like the sound of snow falling
Whispering whistling
In the air
With a lonely
Street at night
I Love snow

Sandra, Age  11
Spring

Spring is here
Spring is here
Goodbye snow
Flowers grow

Birds and bees
Leaves on trees

Hello spring
Hello spring

Brayan, Age 9
Spring

Spring is
fun times
riding bikes
warm sun
blue sky
green trees
blooming flowers
melting snow
muddy puddles
flying birds
people walking
outside again
FINALLY!
Spring is fun.

Geovanie, Age 9
Summer

Summer is
swimming in the pool
burning hot
melting ice cream
running in the lake
throwing water balloons
riding bikes
visiting the beach
watching the sunset
celebrating my birthday.
Summer is
Super cool.

Adrian, Age 10
Fall

Fall means to me…
making new friends,
going to school.
Fall means to me…
raking and jumping,
crunchy, colorful leaves.
Fall means to me…
carving pumpkins,
having a party.
Fall is the best season ever.

Dayneliz, Age 10
Spring

Flowers are growing.
Everything is showing.
Spring is Beautiful

Butterflies are here.
It’s this time of year.
Spring is Beautiful

There’s lots of rain.
So the flowers will gain.
Spring is Beautiful

All the baby animals come out.
I want to scream and shout.
Spring is Beautiful

Jared, Age 11
Winter

Winter is
shivering kids
throwing snowballs
slipping feet
shoveling sidewalks
drinking hot cocoa
freezing air
frosty windows
celebrating time
decorating houses
lots of present
Santa’s HO HO HO
and my birthday.
Winter is a
beautiful,
shivering
season.

Caroline, Age 11
Winter Warmth

I am snuggly, lucky little girl
Living in Wisconsin
I have been around for 10 years
When the wind begins to blow
And the snow falls from the sky
I know the time has come
To go to the closet and pull out
My fuzzy purple hat
Wearing this hat will always keep me
Warm inside, all snuggly

Miguel, Age 8
Winter

There’s a white blanket
Covering the mountain tops
It’s so cold and white.

A tree without leaves
Brown like a big chocolate bar
When will leaves come again?
Myself, My Friends, My Family

Araceli, Age 9
It’s Me

I am a beautiful polar bear because I love to express my feelings.
I am a baby blue Jordan shoe because they look sweet on my feet.
I am water because I go with the flow.
Me, I am huggable, happy, and helpful.

Daniela, Age 9
Best Friends

We go through smiles and laughter
We go through tears and fights
But I know that everything is going to be alright

I can be the hero to save the day
Cause you’ll stand by my side and you’re here to stay

Your smile is a cheer from you to me
The cost is nothing it is given for free.

Luis, Age 10
I Am

I am like a nice sunny day shining like a bright star.
The ocean sparkles with my light.
When the storm comes I feel sad and grey.
I am dark like the night sky when nothing goes my way.
When the light shines within me I brighten up others.
When I see my family they comfort me like the planets and the galaxies around me.
I am Luis

Alfredo, Age 10
I AM

I am an active monkey not a fast lion
I am a yellow sun flower not the red rose
I am the cold winter not the hot summer
I am a loud guitar not a silent cowbell
I am a cool Lamborghini not a mini van
I am a hot sunny day not a cold windy storm
I am the hot fire not the cold water
I am a bright red not dark blue
I am a happy play full person.

Isabella, Age 8
My Braids

I remember the time I went to the Bahamas
I saw people getting their hair done
Then I asked my mom if I can get my hair done too
Then she said “sure”

I remember the lady started to braid my hair
So I sat and sat and sat
When the lady was finished I looked in the mirror
Then I said to myself “I look beautiful then ever”!

Friends

Playing with friends,
Until the day ends.
Swinging on the monkey bars,
Then we eat candy bars.
Sliding down the slide
Like a carnival ride.
Swinging on the swings
Jumping off like we have wings.
It’s time to leave the park
Because it’s getting dark.
We are on our way
Heading home for the day.

Sports

Bryson, Age 8
Soccer

Soccer is my favorite sport.
You can be tall, you can be short.

Making a goal is the best test.
If you are like Messi, you are the best.

Running and kicking in the grass.
But still making time for class.

Scoring a goal with the ball.
Soccer is the best sport of all.

Dyllan, Age 9
My Team

My team is a bird
They can see the ball from far away

My team is a cheetah
They can run very fast

My team is a pack of wolves
They work together passing the ball

My team are clowns
They do silly things when they make a goal

Carla, Age 9
Playing

I like to play in May
I like to play in the park
I like to play in the day
I like to play in the dark
