Partner school application
America SCORES Milwaukee is always seeking new partner schools. However, due to the number of requests and the limited resources available, SCORES requires that interested schools read through the various program options that are offered and then complete the application at the bottom of this page. If your school meets program criteria, we will contact you to arrange a visit during which we would like to meet with the principal and the CLC/after-school coordinator (if applicable) to discuss the school and the program, and take a brief tour around the building.
SCORES PROGRAM OPTIONS:
Elementary School Program (3rd-5th Grade)
This program teaches the unique combination of soccer and creative writing four or five days a week for 60-90 minutes after school for 8 weeks in the fall and 8 weeks in the spring. Students are engaged two afternoons in writing workshops, two afternoons at soccer practice, and every Friday, they play a soccer game against another participating SCORES school. The writing curriculum explores poetry during the fall season and service-learning in the spring. The fall season culminates with the Poetry SLAM!, which brings together every SCORES school to take the stage and perform original poetry as a team. In the spring season, teams develop and lead their own service project, which addresses an issue they have identified in their community.
