America SCORES Milwaukee is excited to be a part of the National Girls & Women in Sports movement!
While thousands of girls and women participate in both SCORES and its partner organization Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club's programs, we wanted to find a way to fit with this year's theme of EXPANDING OPPORTUNITY.
To make sure ALL girls and women have the opportunity to play, Uihlein Soccer Park will offer any female wishing to exercise, play soccer, or use a playing field for any other sport will be granted 1 hour of FREE open play time.
More information and open play hours.
Register your child for spring outdoor soccer.
From the NWGSD.org website:
The theme of the 31st annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day is Expanding Opportunity. It recognizes the extraordinary progress sparked by Title IX and the ongoing effort to ensure access to sports for girls and women. Despite the legislation’s impact, only 40% of high school girls are currently playing sports, leaving three-in-five girls without the opportunity to compete.
Research demonstrates that girls who play sports have better health, higher self-esteem, stronger leadership skills, greater academic achievement and economic opportunity. Let’s work together through NGWSD to get these three-in-five girls in the game and expand their opportunities both in sports and in life.
