For Artists

Calling all sculptors, painters, designers, photographers, film makers, jewelers, architects… and YOU!

Please join us by working with The Inspired Art Project. Enter into a new, unique creative dialogue between your art and creative process and youth poets, between students and mentors, families and teachers, coaches and program staff. Join us in a creative conversation about our most important human needs, needs that we all share: to be heard and seen – to have a community in which we both give and receive, to know a sense of belonging.

How it works:

Choose a poem, let it speak to you, and create something. (link to poem library above)
Have a piece already created?  You may also submit an existing piece of work matched with one of the poems written by one of our poet-athletes.

Your one of a kind piece will be shown in The Inspired Art Show and auctioned at our fundraising event on October 22nd, 2010. Pieces must be submitted by October 1st, 2010.

All pieces will be a part of our auction and become an integral part of a new library of images representing the word of our poets.

Have any questions or comments? Need more information? Have an idea? Ready to work with us?  Please feel free to contact us. We are looking forward to working with you.

Kate Carpenter. 414.881.1189. kcarpenter@americascores.org . Executive Director

Benefits:

All artists may receive a 20% commission based on the final auction price. While this commission can be donated back to the organization, that is in no way expected.

Artists information will be featured online through The Inspired Art Project Blog, community email (nothing spammy), event invitations and program.

Come celebrate the project and entire SCORES community at the November 14th  auction. Hear directly from our poets, hear inspiring speakers, wine and dine delicious local foods and spend a heartfelt evening with our extended family.

Agreement:

Your piece will become a part of The Inspired Art Project’s collection of images. Graphic representation of each piece may be used for SCORES program materials, PR and marketing.

If a piece remains unsold after the auction, it will become a part of a (mini) traveling installation. Showing includes future SCORES community and fundraising events, among others.

Art, Inspired by Kids
The SCORES Inspired Art Project takes poems produced by SCORES youth and asks artists to create one of a kind pieces inspired by their words. As a part of a new annual tradition, each piece will be photographed and compiled in a graphic collection of SCORES art and imagery. The project offers a new way to bring the words of SCORES youth to life. Submitted and accepted pieces will be featured in the SCORES auction on October 22nd, 2010. Even if you are not an artist, you can be involved by reading the poems and sharing in the beauty of the art. By participating in this cycle of inspiration, you are giving a child a chance to be heard and recognized. You are helping to create something beautiful.
